A strong starting point when low furniture and small objects on the floor matter most. Its 79.8mm body uses StarSight navigation; the overseas Saros 10R performed particularly well on obstacle avoidance and dried stains in the direct comparison.
Worth considering first when thresholds interrupt room-to-room cleaning. ProLeap is rated for a 4.2cm single step or a conditional 6cm two-step threshold. Height with the sensor retracted is 89mm; the overseas comparison favored it for flattened pet hair on carpet.

Even a lower threshold can cause slipping if its surface is slick or a mat compresses. In The Ambient’s usage comparison, Roborock needed the threshold added to the app map, while Dreame crossed without that intervention. Matching the route and map settings to your home is what turns climbing capability into more cleaned floor.

That matters little under a tall bed, but can matter greatly beneath a sagging sofa or low cabinet. Measure the interior center and supports, not only the entrance. Both 79.8mm and 89mm robots need some spare clearance to avoid scraping or getting wedged. Dreame lowers its sensor before entering low spaces, so protruding hardware under furniture deserves particular attention.

Both robots handled the long-hair tangle test well; Dreame led on flattened carpet hair. Where toys and cables often remain on the floor, Roborock’s avoidance result may matter more. For thicker rugs, a practical sequence is to leave the mops at the dock, vacuum the rug, and then mop hard floors, rather than relying entirely on pad lift.

A dock fitting inside a cabinet is not enough if you cannot lift out its tanks. If carrying water is the difficult part, compare Roborock’s separate plumbed configuration or Dreame X50 Master with their installation requirements. Extra Complete consumables can postpone some replacements; they do not eliminate tank handling.
