It is the simpler package for Nintendo exclusives and frequent switching between TV, tabletop and handheld play. The included dock and detachable Joy-Con 2 make living-room play and supported two-player sessions easy to start.
It has a clear purpose if you already own many Steam games and use PC settings, mods and trackpads. The 1TB OLED model offers more storage and OLED contrast, but carries a much higher Korean announced price and more handheld weight.
After using both devices, the author compares Switch 2's lighter body, included dock and Nintendo games with Deck OLED's display, trackpads and SteamOS flexibility.

In the same static Hitman scene at each device's maximum brightness, Switch 2 lasted 2h40m and Deck OLED 2h09m.
The percentage brightness was the same, not measured nits, and this was one idle scene. It cannot represent every game's battery life.

Steam Deck OLED is 106g heavier. Hand size and grip shape also affect fatigue, so weight alone does not determine total comfort.
